Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Chainsaw Homelite XL2 Auto second question, stihl dealer, drive sprocket

Question
Hello.Yesterday I wrote about my  Homelite XL 2 Auto 1972 old chainsaw. The engine still working great so I need only a new chain because the original was stolen.I forgot to tell you about bar size (12 inches).I've tried to use a low profile chain (used at a Stihl 12 inches MS210) the size is the same but the teeth profile can't fit at the "star" in the round part of the bar (I don't know how to call this star correctly). Now other question.Do you believe I can change the original 12 inches Homelite bar for a Stihl 12 inches bar? The reason is because we have only Husquarna,Stihl or Makita chainsaw avaible in Brazil (with spare parts dealer). The second option is my friend purchase the your options in US and send to me here in Brazil. Thanks for your help one more time

Answer
Hello Emerson:

If you have a Stihl Outlet, then you have No Worries. Take the Saw to the Stihl Dealer and have them Match a Bar and Chain to the Saw. The Bar Manufacturers that Mae the Bars for Stihl also Make the Bars for the Other OEM Saws too. The Dealer Should be Able to Locate the Bar Part Numbers for your Saw from the Bar Manufacturers List. The Chain Drive Sprocket is the "Star" you are Talking About that Drives the Chain. The Stihl Dealer can Match a Bar for your Saw and Make a Chain. Once you have the New Bar and Chain; Write the Part Numbers For the Bar Down and How Many Links and the Pitch of the Chain so you will have Little to No Trouble the Next time you Require a Chain. You May have to Replace the Sprocket when you Do this. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
