Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Engine Stalled When Blade Engaged, adjustment screws, carburetor body

Question
Hi John,
I have a Craftsman EZ walk behind mower powered by Honda 5.5 HP that I bought it form Sears about three years ago.
The model number is 917.377791.  The serial number is 042403M 005478.  The engine family is 3HNXS.1871AK.
I recently have a problem with this mower that it will stalled once the blade is engaged by pushing the lever.
It is also hard to start.  I have cleaned the Carb and it will fire but still stall when engage the blade.  Hope that you can help to identify this problem.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Answer
Hello Kevin:

The Engine is a GCV160A-BHH Model. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower/Engine at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog American Honda. Select the Carburetor File. Turn the Screw (Breakdown #4 Counter Clockwise 1/4 Turn. Does this Help? If No, then Did you Soak the Carburetor Overnight in Carburetor Cleaner? If No, then  Remove, Disassemble and Soak the Carburetor Overnight in Carburetor Cleaner (I Use Gunk). I have Found that Most People can Use a Breakdown/IPL and Disassemble the Carburetor Enough for Proper Cleaning. You Only have to Remove the Bowl, Float Pin, Float and Needle Valve and Any Adjustment Screws that Go Into the Carburetor Body. The Welch Plugs Do Not have to be Removed. Then Soak the Carburetor Body and Parts in a 1 Gallon Can of Gunk Carburetor Cleaner Overnight. The Can has a Parts Tray Inside it for the Small Parts. Once the Carburetor and Parts are in the Cleaner, you can Replace the Lid for Safety and to Prevent Accidental Spillage. Then Blow Out the Passages with Compressed Air. Install New Parts if Required. If the Carburetor has Not Been Cleaned as Instructed Above, then the Carburetor can Still be Dirty and the Jet can Still be Restricted Causing this Problem. A Damaged Flywheel Key can Cause this Problem Also. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
