Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kerosene, proper manuals, spec numbers

Question
I accidently put kerosene in my lawnmower after the engine was hot and ran it last week.  It will not start now.  I siphoned the kerosene out and replaced it but the engine will not start.  What are my options?

Answer
Hello Kevin:

Change the Plug. Then You Probably Need to Clean the Carburetor and Wash the Kerosene from the Inside of the Carburetor and Blow Out the Carburetor Passages with Compressed Air. Kerosene is Thicker than Gas and Usually has Trouble being Pulled through the Carburetor Jet. If you Pour a Small Amount (1oz) of Gas Into the Carburetor Throat and Try to Start the Engine, What Happens? If the Engine Starts and Quits, then Clean the Carburetor. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower and the Model and Type/Spec Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manuals and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
