Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): mower stalls out, question pool, model numbers

Question
I have a Cub Cadet 2140 that stalls out once the engine gets hot, often after hitting a root or other obstacle. It won't restart for several hours after. The engine also seems to be extremely hot when it stalls out, but I don't know if that's normal operating temp or not. I've also been having problems recently with the hydrostatic tranmission for the mover blades failing to re-engage after the engine warms up, but I don't know if that's related. Any suggestions?

Answer
Hello Kirk:

Sorry for the Delay. This Question was Located in the Question Pool. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. There are 2 Possible Causes for the Stalling. 1- The Coil/Ign Module is Bad. 2- the Flywheel Key is Damaged (this will also cause the engine to run hotter than normal). The Numbers you Sent are the Series Model Numbers. The Model Numbers will Assist me to Assist you. Thanks. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
