Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): kill switch broken Murray push mower, component number, select shop

Question
We have a little push mower that I use to cut the ditches and up close around the house.  It fell out of the truck, and the cable that was attached to the metal bar that you pull up and hold while you're cutting became disattached and the plastic thing it was hooked to, well part of it's missing.  The mower starts fine when my husband holds the wire/cable thing up with a pair of pliers.  I looked up the diagram on the web and it shows no detail on how the thing hooks up.  I just want to take it to the shop and let them fix it, but the husband would like to fix it himself.  Any ideas how this thing hooks on?

Answer
Hello Sharon:

OK. First. So I Understand the Component you are Asking About; Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. You can Reference to me the Breakdown Numbers and the Site Addy you Looked at Online. Then I can be Sure I Understand the Component you are Asking About. Is the Cross Bar Missing. Is Your Husband Pulling on the Cable at the Handle Bars or the Engine? Thanks.

Hi Again Sharon:

I forgot to tell you When to Submit you Question if I was Maxxed Out. My Mistake; Sorry. Go to this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM (Murray) and Enter the Model Numbers (22516X92B). Then Double Click on your Model in the Results Area. Then Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View. Select the Handle Assembly. If Number 13 ( Engine Stop/Brake Lever) Does Not have a Hole for the Cable to Hook into it, then the Component Number 14 (Stop Lever Bracket) is what the Cable Hooks Into. If the Engine Stop/Brake Lever has a Hole for the Cable End, then Carefully Pry Out the Lever from the Handle and Hook the Cable to the Lever. Now Reinsert the Lever Into the Mounting Holes on the Handle and the Stop Cable Should Work. If this is Not Correct, then Use the Breakdown Addy I Provided and Give me the Breakdown Numbers of the Component/s that Seems to be Missing. Thanks. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
