Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): replacing flywheel key on B/S lawn mower, engine model type, nut torque

Question
I need information on how to replace key on the flywheel part of my mower, if you could help me I would greatly appreciate it very much. The mower I have is a 5.5 Quantum Murry 22" cut, issued dated feb 20, 2004. I am not sure about this serial number but its the best I could see I think it is 7542105141BF150.

Answer
You have to have some special tools to replace the key.   You need a flywheel holder and flywheel remover.
First, remove the spark plug.
Remove the top engine shroud, you have have to remove the fuel tank.
With the shroud removed you will have access to the flywheel.  Use the flywheel holder to hold the flywheel as you remove the flywheel nut.

Install the flywheel nut about half-way down the threads.  Install the flywheel puller and remove the flywheel.
Have some hold the shut-off lever to hold the flywheel brake away from the flywheel as you replace the flywheel.  Line if the flywheel and crankshaft hole and insert key.
Install nut,torque and replace shroud/tank.

If you send me the engine model, type and code I can look up the flywheel nut torque.
