Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): craftsman weed wacker, craftsman weed wacker, tie a slip knot

Question
How do you replace the pull cord on this craftsman weed wacker Model# 358.796260    I got it all apart but cant figure out how to reattach the cord to the pulley

Answer
Hello Kirk:

Sorry for the Delay. This Question was Located in the Question Pool. Is the Hole in the Pulley for the Pull Rope Visible with the Pulley Installed in the Housing? If Yes then Turn the Pulley (Clockwise I Believe) and Tighten the Spring Until it Stops. Then Reverse 1 Turn and Line up the Hole in the Pulley with the Hole in the Housing and Thread the Rope through the Pulley Hole and Out the Housing Hole. Tie a Slip Knot in the Rope to Hold the Rope in Place while you Attach the Pull Handle. Once the Handle is Attached, Release the Slip Knot and the Rope Should Retract Into the Housing. If the Hole is Not Visible, then Install the Rope Onto the Pulley and Reinsert the Pulley Into the Housing. There is a U Cut Into the Outer Lip of the Pulley. Hold the Rope in the U and Tighten the Spring Until it Stops. Then Reverse 2 Turns and then Thread the Rope Through the Hole in the Housing. Tie a Slip Knot to Hold the Rope in Place While the Pull Handle is Attached. Go to this Site Addy, http://www3.sears.com/ and Enter the Model Numbers in the Upper Left Search Box and Click Go. Then Visually Verify the Equipment and Click Continue. From this Page you can View Diagrams or Parts Lists for you Equipment. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
