Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda II HRT216 Hobda GCV160, honda mower, arinet

Question
My Honda mower keeps shutting off after mowing each swipe of the lawn (30Yds). It will start right back up but then shortly shuts off again.  The air cleaner appears clean.  any suggestions.

Answer
Hello Bob:

With you Being Able to Make One Cut and then it Quits, I Suggest you Check the Gas Flow to the Carburetor, the Carburetor Inlet Port and then Cabruretor Needle Valve. One of these is Restricting the Gas Flow to the Carburetor Bowl. The Bowl is Empting Out Due to the Load of Cutting Grass and When the Bowl is Empty the Engine Quits. If the Internal Jets Being Restricted Were the Problem, the Engine Will Most Usually Start and Quit within 5 to 20 Seconds. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog American Honda. However, it May be that the Carburetor Requires a Good Soaking and Cleaning, Also. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
