Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snapper quits during mowing the lawn, briggs and stratton, hp model

Question
I took my 1996 Snapper to a new place to have them do her annual checkup.  When I got the old girl back, I also got back a problem.  When mowing the lawn, the engine just stops.  I prime it, by pushing the rubber bulb 6 times, and it will go for another 5 - 10 minutes.  I have taken the mower back to this place twice, asking them to fix the problem they caused, and they said that they can't recreate the problem.  Can you help me?  It's a 1996 Snapper, Model P21600.    Briggs and Stratton engine is: 6 HP, Model 12H802, Type 153121, Code 96012259.  I would appreciate any help you could give me.  I have kept my mower is excellent shape for 10 years, and now it is truly a problem due to the poor work of this shop.

Answer
Hello Gayle:

There May be Trash/Water in the Gas Tank. Check the Tank Cap and Ensure it is Venting the Tank Properly. Usually if the Problem is the Coil, the Spark Plug has No Fire and the Engine Will Not Restart Until the Coil Cools. Usually it Takes 5 to 10 Minutes for a Vacuum to Build in the Tank and the Vacuum Prevents Gas from Free Flowing to the Carburetor. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Mower and Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM and Enter the Model Numbers. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can Select the Section of the Engine you Wish to View. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
