Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawnmower engines, briggs stratton, mounting bolt

Just wonder if it is possible to replace a 17hp Briggs+Stratton motor off a Poulan Model # PC17H42STA lawnmower with a 12hp Kohler??

Depending on the Model of Each Engine, they May Interchange. Check the Mounting Bolt Pattern, the Crankshaft Length and Diameter.
