Pontiac Repair: CAR STALLS, pontiac gran prix, leak acid

Question
I  HAVE  A  1996  PONTIAC  GRAN PRIX V/6 THAT STALLS  WHEN  THE  HEADLIGHTS  ARE  TURNED  ON, I  REPLACED  THE  ALTERNATOR  BUT  DIDNT  HELP

Answer
Hi Lynn:

well I would look at the basics first like the battery and battery cables. I have seen batteries leak acid out of the (+) post and corrode the battery cables and cause all kinds of issues. make sure the cables are tight at the battery. Same with the ground cable make sure it's tight at the battery and at the engine block and the small wire that runs off the cable is still attached to the body. My bet is the issue you have here is related to one of the things I mentioned. If not your going to have to dig deeper. How about when you turn on the turn signals does the car die then too?
Good luck :)
