Motorcycle Repair: 2002 Harley Fatboy Electrical problem, harley fatboy, there some sort

Question
last weekend i rode my bike for about 50 miles, with several stops and restarting. when i made my 4th stop and shut the bike down, i went to restart, but when i turned the "ignition knob" to ignition these are the symptoms i observed:
- Headlight does not turn on.
- Neutral light does not turn on.
- oil light and engine light did not illuminate like it usually does for several seconds.
- bike does not turn over (not even a clicking noise).
- blinkers do not work.
- The speedometer and odometer DO illuminate.
- Break lights still work.
- Horn still works.

I'm very confused as to what could be causing this problem? is there some sort of starting relay that powers up all the items i listed as not working? is it simply the replacement of a part that went bad, or something more?

Answer
First, check the battery to make sure you have a good charge. Next, check the fuses to make sure none have burned out. If both are ok then your going to have to do some tracing with a test light from the battery to the switch and then outward to find the problem. You probably have a conncetion that has come apart.
Good luck and happy riding
