I have two issues with a Honda HRT2162TDA / MZCG-6887711. I purchased the mower in July,04

Recently, the engine has begun to run rough with black-purplish smoke.  Also, the self-propelled seems to be losing some pull.

The 2 are Related. The Running Rough will Cause a Loos of Pull with the Self Propelled Unit. Has Anything Been Hit with the Blade Lately? When was the Carburetor Cleaned and Overhauled Last? From you Description, it Sound like the Carburetor Neddle Valve Isn't Seating Properly or the Main Jet is Out of Adjustment. Is the Air Filter Clean? Is this a HRR216K2 TDAA Engine?
