Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Victa Lawnmower hard to start, compression issue, starter cord

Question
Hi Paul, i have a prob with my 2 stoke Victa, when i try to start it, it nearly rips my arm off, i have changed the fuel taken the spark plug out cleaned it, i got it going but then when i stopped it again the result was the same when i tried to start again, it gets about 1 1/2 to 2 ft of starter cord out then just rips the cord out of my hand, is this a compression issue?, at first i though it may have been an airlock, because after i took the spark plug out and cranked it with no plug in it,  it started first time, but then went back to the same problem next time i tried to start it,

Answer
Don't know what the hell a "Victa" is but you have a sheared flywheel key.  Remove the flywheel and replace the key.  Difficulty level 5 on a 1-10 scale.

Where are you at. What is a Victa?  It doesn't really matter, an engine is an engine no matter what side of the pond you're on.
