Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kohler stops running, rubber gasket, new spark

Question
I have a 6 1/4 HP Kohler Model K141T, Spec. No 29357d which is difficult to start but when it is started, it runs for about 5 to 10 minutes and then it seems the governor lever moves to shut down the carburetor killing the engine.  What's wrong? How to adjust carb? Where to find carb bowl rubber gasket? Fuel is clean, new spark plug, doesn't seem to be over-heating.  Thanks John.

Answer
Hello Fred:

Check the Gas Flow to the Fuel Pump Inlet Port and Ensure it is Free Flowing. Check the Fuel Pump and Ensure it is Working. If Both of These are Good, then Go this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM and Enter the Model Numbers K141-29357. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can Select the Section of the Engine you Wish to View. Select the Carburetor Pg 11A. Set the Screws Marked K and M as Follows. Turn Both Airmixture Screws In Until Snug. **DO NOT JAM** Then Reverse the Rotation on Both Screws 1 1/2 Turns. Set the Throttle to High and Start the Engine. Slightly Rev the Engine and Adjust Screw Marked K Until the Engine Revs Properly by Hand. Now Lower the Engine Rpms to Idle and Set the Screw Marked M so there is No Hesitation When Throttling from Idle to Full Throttle. You Should be Able to Purchase a Carburetor Bowl Gasket from your Local Small Engine Service Center. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM and Enter the Model Numbers. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can Select the Section of the Engine you Wish to View. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
