Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda 6.5 Hp engine will not start, arinet, honda engine

Question
I have 6.5 Honda engine on a pressure washer (5 years old).  It will not stay running this spring.  On the first pull it stutters, then quits.  The next pulls do not hit at all.  I stored the pressure washer this winter with the engine at a 30 degree angle, carb down.  Maybe that did something.  I removed and used carb cleaner to clean out the float bowl, and some of the passages.  But the performance was the same after reassembly.

Answer
Hello Jeff:

First Clean the Carburetor Properly. Remove, Disassemble and Soak the Carburetor Overnight in Carburetor Cleaner (I use Gunk). Then Blow Out the Passages with Compressed Air. Install a New Kit if Required. If the Carburetor Is Not Soaked, It Is Not Clean. You Say it Stutters and Quits. That is  Usually an Indicator of Fuel Restriction. Pour a Small Amount of Gas (Approx 1 oz) into the Carburetor Throat. Try to Start the Engine. If it Tries to Run and Quits, then the Carburetor is Definitely the Cause of your Problem. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog American Honda. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
