Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Suction-lift carb fuel tank, honda atv dealers, briggs and stratton

Question
QUESTION: Hello John
Picked up an older B&S (130902 0193) with a pulsating suction-lift carb mounted on the fuel tank. The engine and carb are in great shape but the tank has surface rust inside due to a poor fuel cap. Is there anything that you have tried over the years to remove the rust??? Any thoughts on those phosphoric acid solutions they use to remove the rust from chrome or toilet bowls???
Just can't let those older engines die,
Morris

ANSWER: Hello Morris:

The Older Engines Just Won't Die. The are Like the Energizer Bunny; They Keep Going and Going and Going. lol I Use BBs and a Paint Shaker. Then Dump the BBs from the Tank and Coat the Inside of the Tank with a Tank Sealer that Honda ATV Dealers use to Seal the Inside of Metal Tanks. I Don't have the Name Handy, However, as Soon as the Shop Opens on Monday, I will Follow Up with the Name of the Tank Sealer. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

QUESTION: Hello John!!!!
BB's worked great!!!! Sometime in the last 30+ years the throttle control has been "revised" to a throttle cable ... in doing so I believe the governor linkages have been changed and an "extra" rod added. I can't find a good addy that shows the setup ... can you suggest one??
Thanks

Answer
Hello Again Morris:

Great!! You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Select the B. Then Select Briggs and Stratton. Then Select Don't have Part Numbers. Then Select the File #13.  Then Select the Folder #130900. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
