Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda GX31, honda gx31, crankshaft seal

Question
I have a small cultivator with a Honda GX31 engine.  It starts and runs fine.  However, after it is shut off and put away, all of the oil leaks out on the floor.  How is the oil getting out of this engine?

Answer
Hello Wayne:

You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine at this Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select American Honda. Then Select Engine. Then Scroll Down Until you Get to the GX31 Engines. Then Select the Model Engine You Have. If this is a Vertical Shaft Engine, then the Lower Crankshaft Seal May be Bad or the Crankcase Gasket May Nedd Replacing. On the Horizontal Engine the Crankcase Gasket May Need Replacing. Send me the Complete Engine Information, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. Hope this helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
