Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 20 hp intek briggs twin, float bowl, fuel filter

Question
I have a mower with this motor and if I put gas down in the carb it will run great until consumed, I replaced fuel filter and still same problem. I recently bought and it hsd sat for a year or so. Thought the float might be stuck but it looks like it has a electronic float bowl. Any suggestions

Answer
You need to clean the carb.
The electrical devise on the bottom of the carb is an anti-backfire solenoid. The float probably isn't stuck. The problem is that the fuel in the carb has degraded to the point where it just won't burn. The fuel has also clogged the jets and fuel cannot flow through. Don't do the job halfway. Clean the tank and replace the fuel lines. Also replace the fuel filter again. It's probably full of the crap that was in the tank.
Thank the EPA for this problem. Current fuel only lasts about 45 days at the most.
