Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawnboy using alot of gas, adjustment screw, exhaust port

Question
My F series engined Lawnboy Special (model # 8072 and serial # c22980314) has seemed to use more gas than it should be using.  Im not sure how to lean the carb out, which i would think would fix the problem, but i need to know what is going on.  I dont know the history of the mower and whether it is the original engine or anything, as i picked it up for 20 bucks.  However, it starts and runs flawlessly other than the gas issue and ive used it 4-5 times.  Please help, as id like to get her working properly.

Answer
Hello Eric:

Check the Muffler and Exhaust Port for Carbon Blockage. This will Cause the Engine to Use More Fuel Also. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine and Carburetor at this Addy, https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/default.cfm?xCaller=LawnBoy and Select Starts Parts Viewer. Enter the Model Numbers 8072 and Click Search. Then Select the 1984 Model. Then Select the Carburetor. The Only Adjustment Screw On your Carburetor is Breakdown/IPL # 4. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
