I recently replace all the gas line in my craftsman weedwacker model no. 358.798490. It will start on the initial start up but when I try to put the choke to the off and full position the engine dies. also, when it is in the half choke position and press the throttle trigger the engine dies out too. It will run in the half choke position for ever as long as it is in the ground and don't press the throttle lever and don't lift it off the ground and start using it. Any suggestion. I tried adjusting the mixture screw and the idle speed adjustment and its still the same. Any advice?

You have crap in the carb, probably bad gas from last year.
Buy a carb kit and rebuild the carb.
DON'T EVER BUY A POWER PRODUCT FROM SEARS!!!!!!
All they sell is junk that you can buy a Depot or Lowe's for less money. It will still be junk but will cost less.
Buy a trimmer from your local small engine dealer. A good trimmer that will last a lifetime will cost 200.00+, but your will leave it to your kids in your will.
