Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman 32 cc leaf blower, starter rope, strap wrench

Question
I have a Craftsman 32cc leaf blower/mulcher that is several years old but has
been working perfectly until the starter rope broke. I thought changing the
rope would be simple, but, I have almost torally disassembled the unit and
still cannot find a way to get to where the end of the starter rope attaches.

There is a 9/16 inch nut that holds the impeller unit to the cranskshaft, but, I
am not able to figure how I can jam the shaft so I can loosen this nut and
perhaps get to the starter pulley to insert a new rope end.

Answer
 Hello Mike:

Send me the Model Numbers Of the Blower, Please. With these Numbers I May be Able to Locate a Breakdown/IPL and Better Assist you. Also, you May be Able to View this Breakdown/IPL Online. However, to Prevent the Flywheel from Turning; Remove the Spark Plug and take it to the Hardware Store. Purchase a Bolt that is the Same Diameter and Threads as the Spark Plug. Make Sure it is at Least 4 Inches Long and has Threads of at Least 3". Thread this Bolt Into the Spark Plug Hole and then Move the Piston to Jam Against the Bolt. Remove the Nut. You can Also Use a Leather Belt and Hold the Flywheel by Making a Strap Wrench with the Belt. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
