Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Ariens Snow Blower pull start, recoil spring, ariens snow blower

I've taken the manual pull starter (dog starter?) apart on my Ariens Snow Blower and I can't figure out how to get the pull spring back on. Any ideas?

Hi Tim,

The recoil spring should attach at one end to the outer housing.  Next, carefully wind the spring back in a spiral manner, from the outside in.  Finally, attach the rope hub to the other end of the spring and pretension it.
