Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): riding mower, key switch, brake switch


Question
I have a poulan pro model#PD185H42st  ser#041304D003499 runs good with brake pushed in, when released it dies. I replaced the brake switch, key switch, seat switch checked every wire but want stay running. I allso replaced blade swicth. Out of ideas please help.    thanks Richard

 Hello Richard:

 Sorry for the Delay. Remove the Engine Shutoff Wire from the Coil. Does the Engine Still Quit When you Release the Brake/Clutch? If Yes, then the Problem is the Carburetor. If No, then there is a Short in the Harness if the Switches Check Good. You can View a Breakdown/IPL at this Addy http://www.poulan.com/products/chainsaws.asp and Select Download Manuals.
