took off housing on my sears craftsman 7 hp snow thrower, the gov. link and throttle link come off the control knob, theres several holes and I have no clue which ones they go in. the other ends are still both intact to carb.-n-governor. motor model #143.977001 for snow thrower model #247.885570  sears brand

I would recommend examining the parts and look for wear, wore paint or shiny surfaces.  This will help identify which holes were used.

Unfortunately the repair manual and the illustrated parts list do not show how the rods are connected.  Check out this web site:  http://www.small-engines.com/tecgovpics.html
It has some good pictures of how to connect the linkages.
