I have a Sears riding mower that was running fine and all of the sudden the engine died when I let out the clutch or engage the mower blade.  it starts fine and runs as long as the clutch is in or the mower blade is disengaged.  Any help would be appreciated  Craftsman LT1000 917.273373 17.5 hp 6 sp 42 deck

 Jumper the Seat Safety Switch. You Described what Happens when the Seat Safety goes Bad. You can View a Breakdown/IPL at this Addy http://www3.sears.com/ and Click the Lawn Equipment Box.
