Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): governor shaft/bushing replacement, briggs and stratton, honda lawn

Question
Hello John,
I have an 8hp B&S 196400 series Industrial Plus engine in which I recently discovered an oil leak from the governor shaft from the inside of the engine block.  I purchased a new governor shaft and brass bushing kit from a Honda lawn equipment dealer and was wondering what i need to do to get the old shaft and bushing off and new ones on.  Please help!  Thanks!

Answer
 Hello Matt:

The Oil Pan has to be Removed. Go to this Addy http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Click on the B. Then Select Briggs and Stratton. Then Select Don't have Part Numbers. The Select the File # 19. Then Select Folder # 196400. This will Download a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine. When Removing the Oil Pan, Be Careful and Don't Lose the Governor. It Sits on the Cam. Make Sure the Governor Shaft End is going to Rest on the Governor when Putting the Oil Pan Back on the Engine. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
