Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 3HP B&S carb, lawn sprayer, carburator

Question
John, I have a old lawn sprayer with a 3HP B&S Model 80202 type 0695. Loaned it to an old neighbor and the gas was left in it for four years. Cleaned everything put it back together and it ran, but only if I played with the choke.
Took it back apart cleaned the needle valve and put a set of new gaskets and cleaned the screens on the tubes. Now it will only run if I pour gas down the carb. I have tried the old diaphragm but the samething. Any possible solutions?

Answer
 Hello Pat:

Soak the Carburator Overnight in Cleaning Solution(Gunk carburator cleaner) and then Blow Out the Passages with Compressed Air. Install Kit. The Varnish that Gas Forms has been Loosened by the Cleaning you have Done and is Still Causing a Problem. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Addy http://shop.briggsandstratton.com/BShopProductListingPage.asp?rsvp=0&PARENTID=0&... and Enter the Model and Type Numbers and Click Search. On the Next Page, Scroll Down to the 2nd Listing and Click on View PDF. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully
