Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda GC160 small engine, honda gc160, honda engines

Question
This unit just wont start. I bought a Campbell Hausfeld power washer (PW2450) at a lawn sale "as-is" for $50... looks like it is in good shape. After not being able to start the unit, I drained the gas tank, removed the spark plug and removed the carb (let the engine and fuel line air out and dry) for 30 minutes. I put fresh gas in, a new Bosch 4216 spark plug, and cleaned the carb (including the float assembly). I removed the bolt on the bottom of the carb bowl and sprayed  the jet with carb cleaner, then screwed the jet all the way in. This thing will only pop every 2nd or 3rd pull if I'm lucky... any suggestions ?

Thanks,

Paul

Answer
 Hello Paul:

Will the Engine Try to Start if you Use Starter Fluid. The Carburator Needs to be Soaked Overnight in Cleaning Solution and then Blow Out All the Passages with Compressed Air. Soaking is the Only way to Properly Clean the Varnish from Inside the Carburator. Spray Cleaners Just Loosen the Varnish and Really Dont Help. Check the Compression if you can. It should be 70psi or Greater. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Washer(minus the engine) at this Addy http://www.campbellhausfeld.net/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/XItemDocuments?storeId... and Enter the Model Numbers. Then Select you Model from the Search Results. Check the Fuel Pump. You can View a Breakdown of this Engine at theis Addy http://www.honda-engines-eu.com/en/service/spareparts/heepartscatalogue/index.js... and Select the Model and Type. I Looked at the PHA Type Engine for a Reference. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck
