It is a B & S 4.75Q HP engine on a 22 inch cut Murray lawn mower with two big wheels in the back, model number 225111x99a, manufactured in December 2003. I just can't understand what the problem could be. I didn't hit a stump or anything. It just runs for 20 seconds or so, then it won't start again. HELP!!!!

I am having a problem with my lawn mower recently. For the past month, the mower runs, but the engine sounds like it's missing a bit. But yesterday the engine just stopped running. I thought it was the spark plug, so i cleaned it, and it ran about another 2 minutes. i cleaned the spark plug again, then it ran another minute or so. Now it only runs about 20 seconds, and won't restart. The spark plug is only 2 months old. it has gas. Please help...

From your Description it Sounds like the Carburator needs Cleaning and Rebuilt. Make Sure the Gas is Free Flowing to the Carburator. If the Gas is Free Flowing, then Clean and Rebuild the Carburator. Send me the Model, Type and Code Numbers Off of the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine and Carburator and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps.
