Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): intek v twin governor, intek, type numbers

Question
Amazingly I have a problem very similar to another question you recently answered.  I have a 20hp intek vtwin model 40777 type 0128.  Also at a lake house in Texas.  The governor qui, causing the engine to rev very high.  I bent a valve rod, which will replace, but now  I'm trying to determine if I have to tear down the engine to repair the governor or if it could be something more simple.  Could you give me an idea of where to start?

Answer
 Hello Neal:

If the Governor Arm Didnt Work Loose from the Governor Shaft, then you will need to Open the Oil Pan and Replace the Governor. Briggs Doesnt Offer a Illustrated Parts Manual Online for this Engine Yet. However you can go to this Addy http://shop.briggsandstratton.com/BShopProductListingPage.asp?rsvp=0&PARENTID=0&... and Enter the Model and Type Numbers and Search. On the Next Page you can see the Manual Offered for Purchase. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck
