Question -
I have a Toro lawnmower with a Kohler M18QS magnum engine and the engine seems to die after trying to accelerate forward, reverse or when engaging the PTO. I can manually rev up the engine by opening the throttle and it will run just fine. But when I try using the peddle or switch on the PTO, it will slowing kill the engine. I noticed that by moving the peddle up or down is suppose to engage the electric pto and my opinion is that the electric PTO might need to be replaced or is just not engaging (I haven't tested to see if it is drawing any amps since I don't know how). I want to know if it can be fixed instead of replacing it. I bought this at an auction and the PTOs are more expensive than what I paid for it. Thank you.

 Hello Noel:

The Problem May be in the Carburator. If the Main Jet Inside the Carburator is Restricted it will Run Good with No Load, but When a Load is Added to the Engine, such as moving the Mower with the Transaxle,  Starting the Blades ect; the Engine will Slowly Starve Itself for Gas. Most PTO's are Expensive to Replace and I Dont Suggest a Homeowner Trying to Repair them. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. I enjoy knowing the Outcome. Thanks.

 Good Luck
