Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawnmower, craftsman eager 1, little holes

Question
I have a craftsman eager 1 lawnmower  model # 917 378420 and it wont start! there is new gas in it , new spark plug, and the fuel line is not clogged! i have also checked the air filter which is ok also!  what do you think it would be?

Hello Tim, the first thing you must check is compression and ignition. Make sure you have a good spark. If that's good then you check compression with a guage. It should be 65 p.s.i. minimum to run. If those two things check out ok the your problem is most likely in the carb. You'll need to remove it and clean it. Make sure you take a small wire and clean out all the little holes in the bolt that holds the bowl on . Let me know how that works. GOOD LUCK
