Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 5 hp b/s ignition, electronic ignition system, nova ii

Question
I have about a dozen 5 hp b/s built aprox. late sixties or early seventies, been in storages for twenty-two years are mounted on small Shriner's carts. would like to know if I can change them over to electronic ignition system and is it going to be worth the effort? And aprox. cost?

Answer
 Hello Gary:

There used to be an Ignition Module Called Nova. The Nova Takes the Place of the Point Set. I have Talked to Several Parts Distributors and they Tell me that the Nova is Availiable. Go to http://www.rotarycorp.com/ and they have the Nova II Under Products Choose Full Catalog. Then on the Left Choose Item Class, Ignition. Then Suc Class Solid State. On the Page that comes up you can see the Nova II (part #8786) and the Module Electronic Ignition (part # 9334) that is Used to Replace the Point Set on the Older Engines. I have Always used the Nova. The Cost for a Nova II is About $20.00ea. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
