Question -
Briggs & Stratton 3 year old on Toro mower.
6.5 H.P.
I changed oil recently and overfilled, but I emptied the oil down to the filled mark on dipstick before starting.
Now I have white smoke coming out of exhaust sometimes while mowing.Could this be oil in the muffler from overfilling? What should I do to get the excess oil out so it doesn;t smoke?.
Also, since it was new, I have always cleaned under the deck after each mowing by tipping the mower up on its side away from the carb.
Could this be a problem?

Answer -
 Hello Denny:

Always Tilt a Mower Away from the Spark Plug so the Plug is Facing Upwards. The Cause of your Problem sounds like the Crankcase Vent is Not Working Properly. If Oil Gets into the Vent it Will not Operate as Designed. Remove the Vent and Clean the Oil Out of it. It should make a Sight Rattling Noise when Clean. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Engine and I May be Able to Locate a Diagram that you can View to Assist in this Repair. Thanks. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Hello Denny:

Go to this Addy http://www.partstree.net/parts.asp and Click the Shop Online Parts Look Up. On the next Page Select OEM and Enter the Model Numbers. Next Choose the Engine 123K02-0114. Open the Illistrated Parts Lists Folder and Choose the Camshaft, Crankshaft ect File. Items #8 and #9 Make up the Item #10 which is the Crankcase Vent. This Diagram will Show you the Location Easier than I can Explain. The Vent will need to be Flushed out with Cleaning Solution. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.
