Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman LT1000 with a fuel tank leak, craftsman lt1000, gas tank

I recently noticed a strong fuel smell in my garage and discovered that my LT1000 was leaking fuel under the gas tank.  It looks like it is coming from the Seams of the tank but I am not sure.

Is this a common problem?  Thanks for your help.

Difficult question to answer...recently we have found a lot of tank seams leaking.  This was a problem in the late 90's, tapered off for the past 5 years or so but seems to be occurring again.

You can pressure test the tank or just remove it, fill it up and see if it leaks.
