Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman 32 cc Specs Needed, crankshaft seal, compression tester

Question
what is the compression as measured with a sparkplug compression tester for the Craftsman 32 cc motor?

Also what is the bore size? Size of piston? The ring slides a great deal aroud the pin. Is it suppose to be like this?

I am thinking I donot have enough vacuum pressur internal to the motor so fuel can be drawn inside the motor. What do you think? i have spark and the carb is OK

thx...

Answer
Hi Alan,

I'm not sure what the proper compression should be.  I would guess 125-150 psi.  I don't know the sizes of the piston or cylinder.  The rings would slide easily when the piston is out of the cylinder.

I would rebuild the carb if the engine is not getting fuel.
You might have a crankshaft seal leak which would cause a vacuum loss.

Good luck.
