Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Engine quits, briggs and stratton, hello jeff

Question
I have a 19hp Briggs and Stratton on my Craftsmen Riding Mower that I have to run with the choke out partially and after mowing with it for say 30 - 45 min will die and not restart unless it sits for a long time. The engine Model # is 42A707, Type # 1624 01 and Code # is 9608095A

Answer
 Hello Jeff:

1- From what I see on the Breakdown you need to Clean and Overhaul the Carburator. 2- When the Engine Quits, it May be the Coil is Heating Up and Grounding Itself Out. To Check for this. Run the Mower Until it Quits. Have an Extra Plug with a Wire Wrapped Around the Threads. Take the Extra plug and Check for Fire. Attach the Other End of the Wire from the Plug to the Engine Block. If no Fire, then the Coil is Bad. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
