Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Cub Cadet heavy White Smoke, cub cadet 1050, little smoke

Question
City kid, moved to the country, bought 4 acres, and a Cub cadet 1050. HD said use it for 1 hour, and check the oil. I did, it looked at the add mark, so I added oil, about 30 ounces.

Tractor started up but heavy white smoke billowing all around. I know this ain't mosquitoe defogger attachment so I shut Cub down. Wait a few, it starts right up, more smoke...this happens a few times, then it finally runs fine, sometimes under heavy load it smokes a little, then ok.

Did I overfill? is the tractor taost?

Thanks.

Ron

Answer
 Hello Ron:

Yes you over Filled it. From what I have read you have a Little Smoke when under a Heavy Pull. This is Common. It also sounds like the Oil has been Burnt back down to the Operational Level of the Engine, because the Smoke isnt Continous Now. Be Careful, Over Filling can Damage the Internal Components and the Rings. Hope this Helps.

 Good Luck
