Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): B & S no spark, push mower, brake cable

Question
I pulled the plug and no spark so i replaced the plug still no spark. I am getting plenty of gas. I am not familiar with small engines and how they work. But I am definitely getting no spark. Its just a small 3.5 hp push mower with self prime. It ran last week but was hard to get started. It usuallt starts on one pull. The mower is only 2 yrs old. Now it won't start at all. Any info you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Answer
 Hello Bart:

Follow the Shutoff/Brake Cable to the Shutoff/Brake Assembly. Locate the Shutoff. You will see a Wire from under the Blower Housing to the Shutoff. Disconnect the Wire so it is loose. Check for Spark. If none, then Replace the Coil. If yes, Replace the Shutoff. Hope this Helps.

 Good Luck
