Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 25cc Craftsman trimmer shutting off, craftsman weed trimmer, fuel mix

Question
I just bought a 25cc Craftsman weed trimmer.  I mixed the fuel correctly, and followed the correct starting procedures.  The trimmer has a "full choke", "half choke", and "run" setting.  Following the procedure in the manual, I pulled several times on full choke, and then it usually starts on the first or second pull at the "half choke" setting.  Regardless of how long I let it run on the half choke, the engine will die after I switch it to the "run" position.  If I play with the throttle, I can keep it running for a while, but it eventually dies out.  I tried adjusting the idle screw, but that didn't make any difference.  I'm hoping this is something I will be able to fix myself...? Would any type of carb adjustment help this problem?  It seems to run fine on the half choke setting, but I if this isn't how it's supposed to work, I'd like to correct the problem.  Any ideas or information would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
 Hello Jason:

Thr Problem you have is getting to be Common. The Carb is Set too Lean. The Low and High Air/Fuel Mix Screws need to be turned Counter Clockwise 1/4/ turn and it should be fine. Does your Carb have Adjustment for the Air/Fuel Mix. Some have a Red Stop Cap. Some use a Funny looking Screw. If you have the Right Tools you can set the Carb. If not then your local Small Engine Repair Shop can help. Hope this Helps.

 Good Luck
