Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Front-tine tiller blades wont work, front tine tiller, shaft bearing

Question
Hello Mr. Bridgers-
I have a small front-tine tiller that I use in my vegetable garden.  The tiller starts and the engine sounds fine.  The blades, which used to turn with gusto and worked fine tilling up my hard clay soil, only turn sluggishly now.  Can you tell me what might be the problem?  I have removed and replaced all four blades and there is no obstruction.  Thank you for you assistance.

Answer
 Hello Susan:

This sounds like a Shaft Bearing has Frozen Up. A lot of time you can tilt the Tiller so a Penitrating Fluid can Flow into these Bearings. The Bearings that are located on the end of the Tine Drives. Also some of the Small Tillers have a Clutch that wears out. Hope this Helps.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
