Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Problems with engaging the blade, yard machines, idler pulley

Question
Recently we replaced the belts on my 1997 Yard Machines riding Lawn mower. The spring that engages the blades came off and we can not figure out where it goes. Can you help?

 Hello Brook:

 Does this Mower have a Tenision Idler Pulley on the Deck? The Spring is Connected to the Tension Idler. Move the Idler Pulley in a manner to tighten the Blade Belt. You should be able to Determine where the Spring Attaches once you see how the Idler Operates. I hope this  helps. There are many Different Styles of Decks for your Mower. So I really can only Speculate which Deck is Attached to you Mower.
