Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman lawnmower, carbureator, starter fluid

Hi i just bought a used craftsman 6.0 lawnmower model # 917.388382 and the other group of numbers were
042000m040455 iam having a hard time starting it and is looking for a manual could you tell me where the carbureator is to spray some starting fluid on it? Or any other advice for getting it started? thanks it wasnt to start but maybe iam not pulling hard enough?

Hiya Amanda-
forget the starter fluid- it should crank easily without that stuff.
1- replace the spark plug- they're cheap
2- pull out the foam air cleaner element, wash it, dry it, reinstall it
3- make sure you're using the primer bulb, and that it dosen't have a tear (push it 5-times)

go through these steps- & lemme know what you have, then we'll go from there
