Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): CARB, eager 1, throttle plate

Question
Hi, I have a 6.75 HP Eager 1 21" multi-cut rotary lawn mower,model#917.388410. This is my problem, whenIwas cleaning my mower the linkage came off and im not exactly sure how it went on. there is a lever on the side of the motor and it has two holes in it, one for the piece of linkage with a spring goes in one hole(top or bottom) not sure, and the other one conects to the carb could you tell me were exactly they both go, i went to sears but they were no help at all...

Answer
Hiya don- sorry for the delay (business trip)
the lever on the side is a govenor arm. it will connect directly to the throttle plate lever on the carb.  put the piece of linkage with the spring on it into the top hole (the spring goes in with it- it prevents "play" which can cause hunting)the other end connects to a direction changing lever on a bolt-post, then a short lever goes from this directly to the throttle plate on the carb.  This is all just your govenor linkage.
let me know how this goes for ya!
