Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawnmowers, briggs and straton, hp briggs

Question
I purchased a MTD lawnmower (6.0 HP Briggs and Straton motor) 2 years ago and everything was working fine.  At the end of last season I couldn't get it to start.  I checked the spark plug, cleanliness of the gas tank and fuel lines.  I took in to repair this week and I was told that it is the ignition module.  Do pull start mowers have ignition modules?  Is $100.00 repair cost reasonable?

Yes-sir- modern mowers have the equvalent of an ignition module.  No points = electronic ignition = no hassle, until one burns out.  They are expensive, a do it yourself job will cost you 40-65 $ on parts, so 100.00 isn't to far out for a professional job.
