Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): HUSKEE REAR TINE TILLER, rear tine tiller, hot check

Question
WHEN TRYING TO PULL THE STRING TO START THE TILLER IT WILL NOT BUDGE TO TURN THE NECESSARY PART THAT TURNS TO START THE THING. I TOOK OFF THE PULL STRING COVER AND TURNED THE DEAL WITH A WRENCH A COUPLE OF TIMES AND IT NOW COULD TURN.I PUT THE STRING COVER BACK ON AND IT PULLED GOOD ENOUGH TO START THE TILLER. MY WIFE RAN IT FOR A GOOD 20 MINUTES TILLING  AND THEN IT STOPPED. YOU NOW COULD NOT PULL THE STRING AGAIN TO RESTART IT.THERE ALSO SEEMED TO BE A SMELL OF BURNT OIL I THINK. PLEASE HELP.

Answer
If the recoil works fine and the engine turns over by hand when cold, I would suspect it is overheating and seizing up when hot.  Check the oil for the correct level and the correct type, usually straight 30 weight.

Let me know what you find.
