Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawn tractor will not start, safety switch, lawn tractor

Question
Yardman Model:13a-320-515 Serial:2c30811-0003
The tractor was working fine until it ran out of gas. Since then we have not been able to start it. We bought and charged a new battery, replaced the spark plug and air filter. There is no spark at all. Someone suggested replacing the fuse but we can not find a fuse. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer
Have you checked all the safety switches?  Maybe a wire came loose.  You should remove and re-connect each switch to make sure the connections are clean.

To check the coil you can remove the small ground wire attached to the coil.  With the spark plug removed and and inline spark tester installed turn the engine over and check for spark.  If you have spark the coil is good and there is most likely a safety switch that is grounding the small wire connected to the coil.

Let me know what you find.
