Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Cub-Cadet Mower, cub cadet mower, safety switch

My Cub Cadet 1050 tractor starts but when i try to engage the blades it shakes and shuts-off?

Hi Ward,  

I suspect either the safety switch or something frozen in the deck drive system.  The switch, which is usually located on the deck engagement lever or under the seat or both, can be bypassed for testing.  Check the deck by isolating each rotating part to see where the problem is.
