Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kohler 10 HP Carb Settings, carb settings, speed jet

I have replaced a connecting rod with everything going well but I took apart the carb, cleaned and reassembled. the motor starts and runs but under load bogs down. What are the two screw settings to be set at on the carb. any info appreciated.

The initial setting is 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 turns out from the GENTLY seated position.

If you have an older engine, check the throttle butterfly shaft.  These brass shafts wear and can cause weird problems.

With the engine warm and at full throttle you should be able to back the high speed jet out until the engine starts to slow and sputter.  Screw the needl back in just till the engine runs smooth again and the should run correctly.
